Greetings Armstrong Families,
Happy Spring! It finally feels like spring now that we have been able to get the students outside for recess! There have been many special events in March and the beginning of April that have been sponsored by the APG. Starting in Kindergarten, the "Dinosaur Lady" brought her huge book of dinosaurs and her fossils to share with us. Students were excited to touch so many fossils! First grade students were visited by local author Brian Lies. He made a point of mentioning to me how well behaved our students were! Second grade students had a visit by a professional puppeteer! After the presentation, students made their very own puppets and performed puppet shows for their parents! Third grade students went on a field trip to the Boston Museum of Science. They enjoyed thought-provoking demonstrations, shows, and special hands-on exhibits. Finally, the Creature Teachers program is coming to Armstrong on April 12th. Students will get an up close look at a variety of animals. Thanks to the APG, it's been a very enriching past month or so. There's no way we could have given students these extra experiences without the APG! more...
Sincerely,
John Mendes
